Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar (born on June 22, 1974), better known mononymously as Vijay (விஜய்), is a Tamil film actor and playback singer in Tamil cinema. He is known as a fan favourite to many his movies and has got a Huge Base after Rajnikanth.He has also got Huge fan base in the states of Kerala..In Tamil Film Industry he is considered as one of the leading actors in the industry along with Ajith, Surya. his childhood friend and Vikram.. He is the son of film producer and director S. A. Chandrasekhar. He made his film debut in Naalaya Theerpu (1992). Since then, he acted in several films of action and romance genres. During his years in the Chennai film industry, he has won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
