Captain Edward John Smith, RD, RNR (27 January 1850 – 15 April 1912) was a British naval reserve officer, and ship's captain. He was the captain in command of the ; he died on board when the ship sank in 1912. There is a statue to his legacy in Beacon Park, Lichfield, England.
